He was discharged from the hospital in a very "iffy" condition, not sure whether we were doing the right thing or if a nursing home might be a better choice. We soon realized we made a wonderful choice. Jesse regained his strength quickly and his incision healed in record time. He is now feeling very good and starting to look more like the guy we knew before the illness, a long hospitalization and surgery. We cannot thank you enough for all your help! The physical therapist and assistants were prompt and professional, tending to Jesse's safety needs.

I have had the bad luck to struggle with bouts of pneumonia and bronchitis. It can really get me down, and fast!  Being able to have Doc order shots for me to get in my home, gets me back on my feet, and fast. The antibiotic pills just don't work for me, and when I get it, my oxygen level goes down in the 80's and I can't get around. Having those nurses give me the shots daily for a while, and even just check on me, is an enormous relief. It keeps me out of the hospital.  Sometimes, I even have to have breathing treatments. They do it all, and I am pretty thankful. Plus, I enjoy them, at least there is a bright side to being sick!

I can't explain what peace of mind having that emergency response system installed brought to me. I don't even live that close, but that didn't matter. I needed it fast, and they got it to me the next day, and installed it themselves.  I hate to admit, I wasn't the quickest to catch on, but Brian gave me his cell phone number, and I used it. He even made a special trip back, just because I thought something wasn't working. Being able to push a button, and know someone is going to answer, well, it is a relief that means a lot to me!

After another trip to the emergency room, I still didn't feel good, but it wasn't enough for them to admit me. My daughter has to go to work and I just wasn't up to being alone.  My family said to call Spoon River. I got ahold of Mary, and she assured me, they would help. She even said they could come immediately if needed. I was ok since my daughter didn't work until the next day. They came out, called my doctor, sent a nurse to help me, and even arranged someone to come stay with me during the day while my daughter was at work. Being able to speak with someone in person now a days is a true accomplishment, especially at 8:00pm at night. For that alone, I am forever grateful!

I didn't think I would need any help. I thought home health was only for people over a certain age, on Medicare. I was wrong. My incision was serious and more than I could handle on my own. Was I ever glad I had a nurse. And, my insurance paid 100% as well!

Dealing with a loved one with an extended illness is never easy. I have used Spoon River Home Health repeatedly for loved ones. I am so thankful to be able to be able to know, that any time, day or night, if I need something, or my family does, they are there. And when Mary Lou says on her add, "we love taking care of people", it is evident, they mean it.

We would like to relate that Cathy Reimer, who works for Spoon River Home Health Care, has been working as a caregiver for my aunt for about 10 months.  We have found her to be a warm and thoughtful person.  She is very empathetic to my aunt’s feelings and needs, and performs her duties as a caregiver skillfully, and with practical comment sense.

She has been a real blessing to my aunt and our family.

I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for the excellent care your home health service has and is providing my brother, at Riverview Senior Living Community.  It gives me comfort knowing that his needs are being met as well as showing personal kindness and sensitivity.  My brother and I are thankful that Sierra Seymour and her staff of caregivers are always very friendly and helpful in addition to being extremely competent.

What I liked best, is when I had a concern regarding my husband and I needed a nurse, they came to my home the same day.   Nurses were knowledgeable, kind and courteous.
